Hi and welcome to Terrie’s Trek. I am a 30 year Navy Veteran who has had a dream for 27 years now. That dream has been to run across the United States (now modified to “walk” instead of run since I’ve gotten older).
I really never thought this dream would come true. Especially after 2 years of chronic illness, hospitalization and almost dying. But, the universe was working in its mysterious ways and all the time was bringing everything together so that it would actually materialize in the March of 2019.
I have been across the country several times between school and duty stations but always in some sort of motorized, fast moving vehicle (car, plane, even train). You just cannot see all you want to see that way. Our country is magnificent and there is so much to learn from just observing it. I’ve been to places like the Grand Canyon and Mount Rushmore but I’ve never really seen how our terrain changes and how the people who inhabit that terrain change along with it.
