“Open Wide…..”
Ouch is the best word to describe the past few weeks since i was ‘forced’ back to the dentist. I’ve had an unbelievable fear of dentists since i was young (I think it was the sound of the drill I remember from my childhood – like nails screeching across the chalkboard).
I have realized I have to have a lot of work done before I leave for my trip in order to avoid more problems while out in the middle of nowhere. But I didn’t want to hear how extensive the issue was. Today I had to hear it.
Needless to say I don’t have 25 grand to shell out for the best procedure and since it involves oral surgery, insurance won’t cover any of that. So, maybe they can do this other thing which is probably going to be beyond belief in cost. I won’t find that out til next week since most people are done for the holidays.
However, God has been good to me in helping me find an excellent dentist, Dr. Kboudi and all the staff at Advanced Smile Care here in San Antonio. Dr. Kboudi has been so kind in working with me understanding the timeline I have to adhere to. So, there is always some good you can find in anything. I am very much in debt to him (and will be both literally and figuratively) for helping me and most importantly not condemning me for not attending to my mouth to prevent these issues.
We will see what’s next but for now I have a week’s reprieve.
Keep your fingers crossed please.
Terrie
